Paul Ventura has been fronting/writing/singing for different bands since the mid 2000’s. Since his 2008 Warped Tour featured band “The Great Escape” to his current and long main squeeze “Brigands“, Paul has been writing and making the kind of music he wants to make.
But part of that process also involved making music which didn’t really lend itself to any of his other projects. Being a fan of singer songwriters along the lines of Joseph Arthur and Ryan Adams, Paul has written dozens of songs with a more acoustic-guitar minded core and identity.
With that in mind, in the summer of 2016 Paul is prepping to release the first album in a prolific career under his own name. “My intent was to strip away all of the distractions and affectations and just allow the music and lyrics to draw as much of the focus as it can.” Paul explains of the project. “Or maybe it’s all ego.” he added through a chuckle.
His debut record entitled “Why Are You So Set on Killing You (Demos 25-29)” was released October 14th, 2016, and is available on iTunes, Spotify, or for stream/purchase at the Paul Ventura Bandcamp.
